Auto Attendant and Call Routing
Greet every caller with your own recording and let them press a key for sales, service or a person. Each of your numbers can go to the extension, team, mailbox or menu that should answer it.

Kahevo is the VoIP business phone system (PBX) from Gohoku, a Honolulu IT company. It gives small and mid-size businesses on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii Island the phone features of a much larger company, including an auto attendant, extensions, voicemail, ring groups and call recording, without renting a phone line for every desk. Keep your 808 numbers, answer from a desk phone or a web browser, and run it in your office or in the cloud. Gohoku plans, installs and supports it locally as part of our business VoIP and PBX phone services.
Greet every caller with your own recording and let them press a key for sales, service or a person. Each of your numbers can go to the extension, team, mailbox or menu that should answer it.
Ring the whole front desk at once or one person after another, with an announcement and music while the caller waits, and a fallback when nobody can pick up.
Every extension has a mailbox with its own greeting and a message light on the desk phone. Listen from the phone or in a browser. Shared mailboxes let a team work one inbox.
Set weekly hours and closed days in Hawaii time, so mainland callers who ring before you open hear the right message. After hours, play a closed greeting or forward calls to an outside number.
Record calls for the extensions you choose and decide how long recordings are kept. A searchable call history shows who called, who answered and how long each call lasted.
Make and take business calls in a web browser with a headset. No desk phone and nothing to install, which suits remote staff, new hires and seasonal help.
Transfer a call with or without announcing it, park it and pick it up at another desk, play your own hold music, and reach a colleague hands-free on the intercom.
Block nuisance numbers, number patterns and anonymous callers. Repeated failed sign-ins are locked out automatically, and calls can be encrypted with TLS and SRTP.
It depends on three things: how many people need a phone, how many calls you make at the same time, and whether you buy desk phones or use the browser softphone. Kahevo keeps each of those low. Outside lines are shared by the whole office over a SIP trunk instead of rented one per desk, and staff who do not need a handset need no hardware at all. Tell us your headcount and how many numbers you have and we will give you a quote.
In most cases, yes. Existing local 808 numbers can usually be moved (ported) to the SIP trunk that Kahevo connects to. Gohoku handles the porting request and schedules the switch so your calls keep arriving.
Yes. Because calls travel over the internet, a Honolulu office, a Maui branch and someone working from home in Hilo can share one phone system, one main number and one set of extensions. Coworkers reach each other by extension without using an outside line, and a caller can be transferred between islands like any other call.
When Kahevo is hosted in the cloud, it keeps answering even if the office is dark. Callers still hear your greeting and can leave voicemail, staff can take calls on the browser softphone from anywhere with internet, and you can mark the business closed and forward calls to a mobile number. It is worth setting up before hurricane season.
Kahevo uses standard SIP, the common language of business desk phones, so you are not tied to one brand or one phone company. Yealink phones can set themselves up from a link, including their line keys, busy lamps and speed dials. People without a desk phone can use the softphone in a web browser.
Either. Kahevo can run on a server in your office or on a cloud host, whichever suits your business. Both are managed from a web browser, and Gohoku can host and look after it for you.
Yes. Adding a person takes a few clicks: create the extension, hand over a desk phone or a browser sign-in, and add them to the right ring groups. Menus, hours and call routing can be changed at any time without waiting on a phone company.
Doing business in Hawaii costs enough already, and the phone bill should not add to it. Kahevo shares outside lines across the office, lets people work from a browser instead of a handset, and puts everyday changes such as a new greeting, holiday hours or a new team member in your own hands instead of on a service ticket.
A medical office can send after-hours callers to a shared mailbox the whole front desk checks. A restaurant can ring the host stand and the manager together. A property manager can give each building its own number and choose which one shows on outgoing calls. Whatever your call flow looks like today, it can be changed from a web page when the business changes.
Kahevo is built and supported by the same local team that installs it. We plan your call flow with you, record or load your greetings, set up your phones and move your numbers, then stay on hand when you need a change. Call 888-815-0038 or contact Gohoku to talk through what your office needs.
